Piet Dircke is the Arcadis Global Leader for Resilience and Water Management. He has 34 years of working experience on five continents in water management, city resiliency, coastal flood protection, urban waterfront development and climate change adaptation. Piet was Professor in Urban Water Management at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2007 till 2014. Since Hurricane Katrina he is an influential Dutch representative in knowledge exchange on resilience with the USA. In the USA he worked on urban resilience projects in New Orleans, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Pittsburgh, Norfolk and Honolulu. In Asia he was active in the cities of Jakarta, Semarang, Hongkong, Shanghai, Bangkok, as well as in Vietnam, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
